Be Cancer Safe – North Derbyshire
Be Cancer Safe is a community approach to improving cancer survival. We encourage people to become ‘cancer safe’ through a series of talks, events and activities. We encourage attendance at cancer screening, we raise awareness of signs and symptoms of different cancers and we want people in North Derbyshire to visit their GP if they notice any changes in their body. The project aims to help save lives through the early detection of cancer.
We are looking for volunteers to get involved with our events and activities both indoor and outdoor. These events can be general health and well-being events and specific cancer related events. Volunteers should be willing to engage with local people to develop their knowledge of signs and symptoms of cancer and to encourage attendance at screening and GP visits. Access to a car would be useful.
